Four Year Old At-Risk Preschool

Once again the Four Year Old At-Risk Preschool will be offered at the Meade Elementary School for the 2009-2010 school year. This preschool is a half-day program. Children must be four years of age on or before August 31, 2009 to qualify for this program. Students can qualify by meeting one or more of the criteria listed below. Those children who do not qualify can be considered for the peer role model program and attend preschool if selected. Students will qualify for the program if they meet at least one of the following:
- low income
- single parent family
- SRS referral
- teen parent - at least of parent was a teen when the child was born
- either parent is lacking a high school diploma or GED
- child qualifies for migrant status
- child has limited English proficiency
- child is developmentally or academically delayed based on validated assessments. These students may be slightly behind in one or more areas, but not enough to qualify for Special Services.
