Welcome to a New Year!
Welcome the the 2012-13 school year. It is going to be another great year for USD 226! MES/MJH will host their annual Open House on Tuesday, August 14th beginning at 7:00pm and ending at 8:00pm. We hope to see you there!
Remember the first day of school is Thursday, August 16th. Classes begin at 8:10am and will be dismissed at 1:00pm. Lunches will be served. Friday classes will be according to our regular daily schedule, 8:10am to 3:30pm.
All of our sports practices are in full swing! Our tennis courts are getting a great, new face lift. Although the courts were not ready for the first day of practice they should be ready soon. A big THANKS to SWH for letting our tennis girls practice on their courts until ours can be used. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the annual Buffalo Bonanza on Friday, August 24th. All rec teams, junior high, and high school teams will be recognized. For more information please refer to the "Mark Your Calendars" article on the front page of our website.
We have several new faces in the district with some familiar faces in new places.
*Chandra Lewis will be teaching 1st grade and assisting with MHS volleyball.
*Austin Lewis will be teaching PE and History at MHS. He will also be the MHS boys basketball head coach.
*Ben Bricker has been hired to teach 5th-12th grade band and 7-12th grade chorus.
*Marsha Bricker will assist Mr. Bricker with programs, festivals, and musical.
Hopefully you will have the opportunity to meet the Lewis and Bricker families and welcome them to Meade.
*Robert Haberman has been hired at the new MHS custodian.
*Vanessa Goucher will be assisting in the high school kitchen.
*Jolie Girard is back in the MES/MJH office as our full time secretary.
Other changes within the District include Scott Moshier taking over as the new high school principal. Melissa Hegwood is making the move to 3rd grade this year. Taajnia Elliott will be at the high school in the afternoon teaching some of the high school science classes. John Petrie is now the MJH Athletic Director. Jenna Johnson has transition to being the MES/MJH Counselor along the ESL and Test Coordinator duties. Cherie Schnelle will be the MHS Test Coordinator.
