This Week at USD 226

November 05 - 10

CONGRATULATIONS to our MHS Football team on a great season!  Their season ended Friday when they dropped their Regional game against Sedgwick.  Our boys had a great season, and we enjoyed watching them give their all every Friday night.

This week is the KSHSAA designated Fall Buffer Week.  According to KSHSAA rules "there shall be no athletic practice, off-season conditioning, informal basketball shooting...etc., in school-owned facilities during the Fall Athletic Buffer Week, commencing on Monday through Sunday."

Even with Buffer Week we are going to be staying busy and having fun.  Basketball practice continues for our MJH teams.  The high school gym is still being refinished. Our high school music students are busy these first few days of the week putting the finishing touches on their musical, State Fair.  They will share their talents with the community Thursday and Saturday evenings.

Join the fun as our MHS musically-talented students  perform their rendition of STATE FAIR.  Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical is "set against the colorful backdrop of an American heartland tradition, STATE FAIR travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair.  Mom and Pop have their hearts set on blue ribbons while their daughter and son find romance and heartbreak on the midway... STATE FAIR is the kind of warm-hearted family entertainment only Rodgers & Hammerstein could deliver!"  rnh.com   Prior to the musical, MHS will host a livestock display at 5:15pm and carnival games, and a cake walk at 5:30 for no extra charge!  Hot dogs,  popcorn, and cotton candy will be available for a small charge.  They are excited to share the sights, sounds, smells, and excitement of the State Fair.  Admission to the musical will be $5.00 per person.  The musical begins at 7:00pm.

The Meade Rec Commission is offering a Rec. Basketball Skills Clinic for our future Lady Buffaloes.  Coach K will host the basketball skills clinic November 11th, 18th, and 25th from 4:00-6:00pm in the DP Gym.  All our 3rd-6th grade girls are invited to attend.  Lady Buffs Skills Clinic
