It is a busy week with four nights of basketball, a Board of Education meeting, and Site Council meetings in both buildings.
GOOD LUCK to our MHS Scholars Bowl team! They will travel to Rozel-Pawnee Heights to compete in the league tournament. This has been modified to be a varsity-only competition.
Our MJH Lady Buffaloes are starting 2021 in good shape with only one loss this season. Both teams defeated Ashland before the break. Our A team won a close one, 37-34. Our B girls had a nice 18-6 win. Our MJH Buffaloes continue to play well. Before the break our A team boys scored a big win over Ashland, 42-21. Our B team boys played a half-game against Ashland, winning by a score of 26-6. They take on Kiowa County and Minneola this week.
Our MHS Lady Buffs ended 2020 with a 3-2 record. Our girls outscored the Lady Longhorns by a score of 58-54 to end the year with a win. Unfortunately, our girls could not start the year with a win. They met up with a tough Ingalls team and took a loss. Our Buffaloes started 2021 with a sweet 5-1. Before the break they defeated Hodgeman County by a score of 46-38. They began 2021 with a big win over Ingalls, defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 63-37. This week MHS will host SWH and Satanta. There are several changes to our calendar for next week. Our 2020 Winter Homecoming has been postponed. The new date will be Monday, February 15th at 7:00pm in the MHS gym. Unfortunately, the MES/MJH Spelling Bee has been cancelled. We look forward to testing our spelling skills next year. Lastly, our Meade Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to not recognize a Citizen of the Year.
