Welcome to summer! There are a lot of things happening this summer. Please refer to our USD 226 Events and Activities Google Calendar for the weights schedule, camps, and competitions. The Google Calendar can be found here. You can also access the same information from our website by clicking "SEE ALL EVENTS" in the events section near the bottom of the website. This link will allow you to filter the events based on the categories listed in the drop-down arrow. As summer progresses, the SPIAA league activities and other events will be added to the district calendar. You can check back periodically to look for any new additions or changes.
KSHSAA has added a Summer Moratorium that does not allow student-athletes to compete in camps, competitions, or open gym from June 28th through July 4th.
Meade USD 226 plans to continue providing free breakfast and lunch to ALL children 1 to 18. This summer meals will be served out of the MHS kitchen. Parents and/or students will be invited to pick-up meals from the MHS Commons Area. A few tables will be set up for those who wish to stay and eat at school. Lunch will be served from 11:30am to 12:15pm. A "Grab & Go" breakfast will be sent home each day with lunch for the next day. At this time the district does not plan to delivering meals, but students in our out of town are welcome to receive FREE meals. There are no income requirements to participate and all meals are free to children ages 1 to 18. Parents may eat with their children, but there will be a charge for this that will need to be paid for before eating. Students do not need to participate in Summer School to eat. Meals will be served from June 1 through July 30th. No meals will be served on July 5th.
The Meade High School Alumni Reunion will take place this summer! The fun begins on Friday, July 30th. The banquet will take place on Saturday, July 31st, beginning at 5:30pm at the Meade County Fairgrounds. Please visit https://www.meade226alumni.com for more information. The MHS Alumni Association includes everyone who graduated from MHS in Meade, KS, from 1912-2021.
