Results for MJH Track @ Satanta - Haskell Co. Relays: It was another successful day for junior high track in Satanta. Saul Mendoza beat the 8th Grade 3200m with a time of 11:34.48. The 8th Grade Girls 4x400 relay- Joslyn Helus, Ellie Zortman, Sayler Stapleton, and Kenadie Alexander- beat their own previous record with a 4:45.31 finish. Sayler Stapleton tied her own school record 7’ 6” vault again today. Several PRs were set at the meet as well. 7th Grade Girls - 12th place 7th Grade Boys - 5th place 8th Grade Girls - 2nd place 8th Grade Boys - 8th place Way to work, MJH Track!

MHS STATE FORENSICS INFORMATION: The State Championship Tournament will be hosted at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita on May 6th. The tournament begins at 8am. State Championship Qualifiers: Easton Goff, Prose Madison Sutterfield, Humorous Solo Acting Lexus Shelby, Poetry The State Festival will be hosted at Wichita Southeast High School on May 6th. Times TBD. State Festival Qualifiers: Ari Sherman and Holly Reimer, Duet Holly Reimer, Prose Veerle Schuch, Prose Ashley Carpenter, Prose Leah Looney, Prose Kenyon Knavel, Prose Alek Holguin, Prose The One Act Play will perform for State Festival at Wichita Southeast High School on May 5th, time TBD. Our One Act Play is titled "Influencer Nation" by Meg McCrossen and Carrie McWethy (McCrossen) The two uptight hosts of the Kennedy Center Honors find themselves broadcasting live from their nightmares when they are forced to honor some of the nation's most ridiculous internet influencers. REMINDER: Our MJH band students will participate in the SPIAA League Instrumental Festival tomorrow in Minneola. Their performance is scheduled for 11:30am. The bus will depart for Minneola at 10:00am. Participating students need to come to school in their performance clothes. Thank you!

MHS Athletic Physicals are TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 2nd beginning at 8:30am. AVHS will be conducting the physicals. The cost is $25.00. The physical forms are available in the high school office as well as on the KSHSAA website - https://www.kshsaa.org/Public/PDF/FORM-PPE.pdf. Parents/Guardians need to sign the form and have the payment ready prior to the physical. Please contact the high school for more information. The MES/MJH physicals are scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th.

Our MJH Choir, under the direction of Mr. Rempel, had a great day at their SPIAA Choir Festival last week. Holly Ramsey's performance earned a II. Bayleigh Canton, Kellie Miller, and Emanuel Pichilla each earned a I on their solos. Our Women's Ensemble, and Men's Ensemble both earned a I rating. Our Mixed Choir's performance earned a II, I, and I. Congratulations MJH on an excellent day!

Our state musicians had an amazing day at Kansas Wesleyan! Kate Parker, Holly Reimer, and Alek Holguin all received 1 ratings on solos! Orvin Dyck also performed well and received a 2 rating on his solo. The men's ensemble had an impressive performance today with a 1 rating as their reward! The hours of preparation and hard work really payed off this contest season. Way to go Buffs!
