It is time for our MES/MJH Dads and Daughters to get their dancing shoes on! Our PTO is hosting their annual Father-Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 21st.

MHS will recognize our senior student-athletes and their parents Friday, February 6th at 6:00pm, just prior to the the girls' varsity basketball game. This recognition will include all our seniors participating in cheer, dance, tennis, volleyball cross country, football, basketball golf, and track. Seniors and their families (parents/guardians and siblings) will be admitted into the game at no cost. USD 226 appreciates our students and their dedication to MHS athletics.

Congratulations to Ms. Lori Coles on her SPIAA Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Coles has taught Science in Meade for 27 years and has been a Kansas Educator for 37. She has sponsored Science Club, helped with class sponsorships, and has Coached Forensics and Scholar's Bowl. USD 226 wants to thank and honor Ms. Lori Coles for her support of Meade students and an unparalleled standard of Science Education!

Today we, along with KASB, are recognizing Brenda Wenta, our USD 226 BOE Clerk. Board clerks play a vital role in keeping districts running smoothly, supporting board operations and ensuring things stay organized.
Board clerks are often the behind-the-scenes anchors of a district — keeping records accurate, supporting board operations, preparing meeting materials and ensuring everything runs smoothly from month to month. Their organization, expertise and steady leadership make a tremendous difference for local boards and school communities.
Thank you, Ms. Brenda, for all you do to keep us functioning smoothly. We appreciate your hard work and commitment to USD 226!

Senior moms, dads, and seniors! Ms. Krista Walker (in conjunction with Yearbook) will host a senior photo "shoot". Wear your sports gear, bring your instrument, invite your parent or sibling into the shoot, but whatever you choose, have fun with it! This shoot is the perfect opportunity to get a shot for your senior tribute page in the yearbook. To reserve a 15-minute shoot, contact Ms. Walker (walkerk@usd226.org). Time is available Sunday, Feb. 1, Monday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 3 (all from 4-6 pm).

Meade USD 226 will not have school tomorrow due to weather.

The SPIAA League Basketball Tournament brackets have been set. Our boys have earned the 2 seed and will play Tuesday in Dodge City. Our girls have been seeded at 7th and will play in the play-in game against Kiowa County on Saturday in Hodgeman County.
Please remember we are still under the threat of wintery weather on Saturday, so the date and times of those games may change. Updates will be posted as soon as that information has been shared.
