Meade USD 226 COVID-19 Update
Meade Schools continue to remain in the YELLOW on the gating criteria. The county positivity rate has remained stable and the number of students and staff out of the buildings is very low. The district is in great shape after the holidays, but everyone is encouraged to not let their guard down as many areas of Kansas and the US are surging with new COVID-19 cases. Sub-state basketball assignments were released today. Meade is in the Greensburg-Kiowa County Sub-State along with Bucklin, Coldwater-South Central, Minneola, Montezuma-South Gray, and Satanta. Please visit KSHSAA for details on how they tournament will be played.

Yesterday Meade USD 226 was notified by the health department that a student at the grade school had tested positive for COVID-19. Only a few quarantines have been required. The district wants to continue to remind families of the free testing at the Meade County Health Department for students and staff. Kenneth Harshberger, Superintendent

Meade USD 226 was notified right before Christmas of 3 positive COVID-19 cases at the high school - 2 students and 1 staff member. All appropriate quarantines have been put in place by the health department. From now on notification of cases will be listed on the district's Facebook page and Live Feed found on the district's website. Kenneth Harshberger, Superintendent
